Multi-Agent Flapping-Wing Aerial Aquatic Vehicles

Aerial Aquatic Multi-Agent Systems

The draw of multi-agent systems lies in the ability of robots to solve problems that may not be feasible for a single agents to solve efficiently or completely. From converging areas of high ocean activity by following floating ocean debris, to time sensitive source finding problems like identifying gas leaks, there is a unique class of problems suited to aeriel-aquatic multi-agent systems by the nature of there being aeriel tracers used to identify underwater phenomena. This class of problems is difficult to solve with currently available technology, and we're working on new ways to tackle these challenges. Through the use of acoustic modems of communication and a robust version of the FAAV platform, we hope to answer questions in the realm of controls, optimization, communication and environmental monitoring.
